How Much Can
I Save?
Many factors determine the efficiency of your heating system. Your actual
savings will depend on the weather in your area, utility costs, the energy
efficiency of your home and your preferences for indoor temperatures.
However,one factor you can control is the efficiency of your furnace. The
efficiency of a furnace is measured in AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization
Efficiency) percentage.
If your old unit is 10 to 15
years old it's efficiency rating is probably around 60-65% AFUE. Compare that
